Real Estate Convention – KW MegaCamp 2016
My husband Robert and I attended Keller Williams’ annual international real estate convention in Austin, TX last week (August 9-12, 2016) and were amazed by the volume of people (more than 10,000 agents from over 30 countries around the world) and by the great information that leadership provided us with at the Austin Convention Center. This included the unveiling of the many franchise locations (see video, above) along with what we can expect from our technology platform in the coming year (see video, above).
The agenda consisted of material for Keller Williams’ Leadership & Agents in blocked segments called Leadership Camp & Masterminds, Agent Camp & Mastermind, Technology Camp, Cultural Summit (as Keller Williams is dedicated the health and well-being of its agents, and giving back to local communities), Lunch n Learns, and of course the vendors Marketplace Exhibits.
We felt very welcomed by the fellow Keller Williams agents and had at a great time at the wonderful networking opportunities that we came to this convention for, too. For us, it is very important to be a part of an international real estate brokerage because we live in NYC, the world’s international city. Developing relationships with the best in the industry helps us better provide great support for our clients. Some of the groups are dedicated to promoting kindness via their tag line “Kindness is Cool” and a variety of others (see pic below) along with promoting Women as Leaders in the industry.
While all of these learning break out sessions, convention lectures and interviews, and cocktail networking events were a fun way to work, we also appreciated celebrating our wedding anniversary that same week and enjoying a dip in the pool at The Hotel Van Zandt.
At the heart of it all, we know we are aligned with this company based on The Keller Williams Belief System, which appears in co-found Gary Keller’s famous book The Millionaire Real Estate Agent and hangs on all the walls of Keller Williams’ market centers around the globe:
At the core of Keller Williams Realty is a conviction that who you are in business with matters. We believe that the company we keep can contribute to our lives in untold ways. To help cement this understanding, we’ve formalized a belief system called the WI4C2TS that guides how we treat each other and how we do business.
